Navigating the Journey Together: Introducing the New NC Sibs Resource Roadmap
Being a sibling to an individual with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD) is a unique, deeply rewarding, and sometimes overwhelming journey. In North Carolina alone, there are over 200,000 individuals living with I/DD. While parents are usually the first line of support, it is the siblings who share the longest-lasting bond—often stepping into advocacy and care management roles that last up to 60 years.
Despite this lifelong commitment, siblings are frequently left to navigate the complex "alphabet soup" of disability services entirely on their own.
A Space Where Your Experience is the Priority
At NC Sibs, we believe you shouldn't have to wait for a crisis to find your community. We want to provide you with a space where your experience is centered, and where you can connect with a room full of people who "get it" without you needing to explain a thing.
To make finding support a little easier, we are excited to release our brand-new NC Resource Roadmap Flyer.
